Using the site

WorldTripMap is free to use and does not require an account. You may use it for yourself, your family, your classroom or your business. Please do not try to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, or use it to break the law.

What you make is yours

The maps and posters you create show your own travels and your own words, and you are free to download, print, share and display them. You are responsible for the text you add: do not use a poster to mislead, harass or impersonate anyone.

The WorldTripMap name, logo, website design and code remain ours. Turning off the small site mark on a poster is allowed. Presenting the tool itself as your own product is not.

What the maps are for

The maps are simplified drawings made for marking and displaying places you have been. They are not suitable for navigation, for surveying, or as evidence of where a legal boundary lies. Boundaries and names follow the sources described on the data and methods page and do not express a position on any territorial dispute.

We work to keep facts on the site accurate and to correct mistakes when they are reported, but we cannot promise that everything is complete or current. Check anything important against an official source.

Your data

Your maps are stored in your own browser and can be lost if you clear your browser’s data, switch devices, or use a private window. Keep a share link or a downloaded poster if a map matters to you. The privacy page explains this in full.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that result from using it, including a lost map, a print that did not turn out as expected, or a decision made using information found here.

Third-party material

Map data comes from Natural Earth and is in the public domain. The typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font License. Links to other websites are provided for reference, and we are not responsible for their content.

Changes

We may update the site and these terms. When the terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top will change. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.
